Now that Bachelor in Paradise is officially coming back for another season despite all the cancelation rumors, it’s finally time to speculate/manifest who may be frolicking along the shores of Mexico this summer.
There are literally sooo many seasons of former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants to pull from, and according to an ABC press release, the network could be reaching deep into the franchise to cast Paradise this year. Part of the show logline reads, “Breakout fan favorites from The Bachelor franchise are back and ready for a second (or third) chance at finding love.” Interesting!
We have a few thoughts and theories on who might be belting “Almost paradise!” this summer, so let’s get into it.
Shanae Ankney

Shanae literally WAS the drama on Clayton Echard’s season of The Bachelor and seemed to not have a single friend in the house. A lot of viewers loved to hate her, and others just loved her IDGAF spirit, so naturally she makes for entertaining TV. Plus, Paradise tends to have a lot of shrimp, so can’t wait to see how that potentially plays out. #ShrimpGate2.0

As one of Michelle Young’s final three, it’s not unlikely that Joe’s name will be floating around the franchise. He was known for being super calm and chill during Michelle’s season, and honestly, Paradise could use some of that ~energy~. But who knows, maybe the beaches would bring out a different side to him!
Rick Leach

Rick was another one of Michelle’s guys, and he had such a tearjerking story that you couldn’t help but fall in love with him. Unless you were Michelle, I guess. Here’s to hoping Rick will find love in Mexico!

Serene made it to Clayton’s final four but was sent home before fantasy suites week (and TBH, good for her because that finale was a TRAIN WRECK). Serene seemed so sweet and open, and fans definitely want her to find her person!

Jamie probably will go down as one of the biggest villains in Bachelor franchise history after all the drama and turmoil he caused early on in Michelle’s season. This, of course, means he’d be an obvious pick for Paradise. Ya know, to keep things interesting. Kinda sucks that bad behavior gets rewarded…but it also makes for entertaining reality TV???
Teddi Wright

Teddi received Clayton Echard’s first impression rose and ultimately made it to his top five but was sent home right before hometown dates. However, she definitely made a lasting impression on all of Bachelor Nation, and fans love keeping up with her.

Rodney stole every single member of Bachelor Nation’s heart while on Michelle’s season of The Bachelorette. He made it to her top four but was sent home after hometown dates. Even though nearly everyone wants to see him as the next Bachelor because he’s so entertaining and charismatic, we’ll definitely take him finding love in Mexico.

Aaron initially rose to reality TV stardom when he first appeared on The Bachelorette for Kate Thurston’s season and then went on to be featured on Paradise season 7…where he sadly failed to find love but did find a best friend. Who knows? Maybe his luck will change this time around!

Genevieve was a consistent favorite on Clayton’s season, so when the Bach went ahead and chose Susie, Serene, Rachel, and Gabby as his top four, it was easy to see why fans were gutted. However, that’s kiiind of what would make her an amazing pick for Paradise.

Sure, Kate was eliminated in week two of Clayton’s season, but she’s still definitely killing it as a real estate agent with The Oppenheim Group aka the brokerage featured on Selling Sunset. So though her time on The Bachelor was short-lived, we could definitely see the tides turning on the franchise’s spinoff.

Brittany was at the center of drama during Matt James’s season when fellow contestant Anna Redman accused her of working as an escort in Chicago, which…is that supposed to be an insult or??? Anyway, during a later “The Women Tell All” episode, the model said, “I also want to address people that are in the sex work industry, don’t let somebody tear you down for that. I believe that everyone deserves love and nobody’s life is worth more or means less based on occupation.” Her gracious response and iconic boldness (I mean she did kiss Matt when she first made her entrance without even talking to him first) would surely make her an amazing addition to Paradise.
