Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance at the MTV VMAs on Sunday, and even her eyes were glammed up for the occasion. On Aug. 28, the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer walked the VMAs red carpet in a shimmering naked dress inspired by her “All Too Well” music-video ensemble paired with floating crystal eyeliner. Like her teardrop earrings, Swift’s iridescent eye makeup beautifully reflected the light from the cameras as she posed on the red carpet, bringing her bejeweled head-to-toe look full circle.
Swift’s makeup artist completed the beauty look with a sharp cat-eye, black mascara, pink shimmery eyeshadow in the corner of her eyes, and bold red lipstick. To continue the opulent theme, the singer styled her hair in a tight bun, letting her cropped bangs frame either side of her face. Taking every last detail into account, Swift also rocked a glistening manicure embellished with crystals.
Later in the evening, the singer stepped on stage alongside Dylan O’Brien, producer Saul Germaine, and cinematographer Rina Yang to accept the award for best long-form video for her “All Too Well (10-Minute Version)” music video starring Sadie Sink. While many weren’t expecting Swift to make an appearance at the award show, it’s safe to say that her music and her makeup stole the spotlight.
