Hello Ravoshia, we are so pleased to have you speak with us here at Magazine Talks. Let’s dive into your new Mannequin Performance Style 101 visual showcasing the format Me + 2…

First off, where are you from?

Well, I have a complex upbringing, as I was born in Merrillville, Indiana and grew up in Gary, Indiana for the 6 years of my life. Ironically, the hospital I was born at was the closest to where my parents and sister lived, being only 15 mins away. Then I moved to Bermuda, where my dad is from and stayed there for some years and left in 3rd grade to relocate to a small city named Beaumont in Texas that’s where my mother is from.

Wow really that’s a diverse upbringing forsure…Now what inspired your new video and your theme Mannequin Performance Style 101?

It started with my song Fashion Killa, when a random idea which felt like it was heaven sent popped into my mind. I began to imagine the edgy mannequins, certain outfits and me performing with them in set formats and positions. My latest visual had all kinds of creative stuff that brought inspiration like my new music, & quotes. First, I wanted to highlight my format Me + 2. Additionally, when it came to the music selection, of course I wanted to use “Mystic” which is Fashion Killa’s instrumental due it being the actual theme & an origin song for it. But the main song by Stranger Things had always been a standout so I knew using it would deliver the best energy and dynamic.

When did you come up with it?

In May 2019, while in Atlanta officially, but the idea of it was something that began a while before. I didn’t fully begin building on it until mid 2020 once I had an official logo created and trademarked for the performance design/theme.

Could you give our readers a little information about what it is?

Basically, it is a creative performance theme/design done either in musical and dance visuals or for live on stage performances in certain layouts, positions, and techniques with the mannequins. Individuals can do freestyle or choreography & improv dance; acting in a popping-locking robotic style, a rigorous, hypnotic, urban, hip hop, jazz, and modern style dance movement. The main formats are Me + 1, Me + 2 and Me + 3 yet it can be done with more mannequins.  A main purpose is to create an embodiment kind  of experience by doing some movements that mimic the mannequin’s style-essence and poses.

You’ve introduced an alter ego, The Mastermind/Lady Einstein, how did that arise, and is it inspired by Albert Einstein?

Yes, my alter ego is definitely cultivated by the legend himself. Although, it does tickle me knowing that now I have an alter ego inspired by Albert Einstein, because in the past if someone would have told me I would, I wouldn’t have believed them. Due to the fact that he wasn’t someone I really looked into growing up, it was unusual when I became intrigued by his genius mind, and beliefs.

Any last thing you want to share?

I really believe in the power that imagination holds, and how much it impacts the world with all the new methods of making and expanding things, technology, and inventions in life. For example, oftentimes a person imagines or thinks of an idea or concept first, before it turns into reality. Albert Einstein sheds clarity with his quote “Imagination is everything, it’s the preview of life’s coming attractions”

Well thank you for speaking with us, it’s been truly insightful…
