Let’s set the scene: It’s late after work. It’s been a long week. You want something light to stream and can’t exactly wait for Abbott Elementary to return. And so you head directly to your tried-and-true favorite: Halloween episodes of NBC’s hit 9-season comedy show The Office.

Is this you? No. Do you want it to be? Probably! As any mega-fan of The Office knows, the show’s holiday episodes are some of the greatest available on television Peacock these days. Between the chaotic mandatory parties, Jim Halpert’s absolute refusal to wear a costume requiring any effort (until “Costume Contest,” that is), and multiple staff Joker costumes, there’s much to love and much to discuss.

Instead of scrolling through Peacock’s episode descriptions to pick your poison, let us take the fuss out of it for you. Presenting all six Halloween episodes of The Office in the order they aired, plus a bonus YouTube compilation from NBC. Happy streaming!

“Halloween” (Season 2 Episode 5)

Ah, the episode that started it all. Arguably the best of the bunch, “Halloween” features Michael having to fire someone at the staff party when everyone’s in costume (including himself). But it’s the final scene of Michael and the trick-or-treaters that softens him for perhaps the first time on The Office, creating a stark difference between Michael Scott and his U.K. counterpart David Brent (played by Ricky Gervais). It’s a must-watch for a reason!

“Employee Transfer” (Season 5 Episode 6)

The best Halloween episodes of The Office always seem involve Dwight, don’t they? While the storyline about Pam being the only staffer in her new office to dress up in costume is certainly delightful, a clear highlight is Dwight applying to Cornell (memorabilia included, of course) to get on Andy’s nerves, with great success.

“Koi Pond” (Season 6 Episode 8)

You’re forgiven if you forgot The Office‘s infamous koi pond drama took place during a holiday, but this season 6 gem doubled as a Halloween episode. The seasonality only made it funnier when the serious office discussions of Michael’s koi pond mishap were juxtaposed with silly costumes.

“Costume Contest” (Season 7 Episode 6)

The name of the game? Win the office costume contest. The prize? A deeply coveted Scranton-area coupon book that everyone but Pam mistakenly believes is worth $15,000. The consequence? Some of the wildest Halloween costumes to grace The Office screens. A win-win for viewers, certainly!

“Spooked” (Season 8 Episode 5)

This Halloween episode took place during the Robert California-era of The Office, which saw the new boss spending his time trying to suss out everyone’s fears to craft the perfect ghost story.
